Tours are free with your admission. Our amazing and knowledgeable Docents and Guides bring the history to life with stories and anecdotes to engage all ages. Tours take place at 10am and 1pm. Although, please note...due to current Covid-19 restrictions, we are NOT doing GROUP tours so as to keep better social distancing...you are invited to self-guide...our docents are available to answer questions and to turn on most of our machinery.
Gold Panning is also included with your admission. There is a video to teach you the fundamentals and all of the equipment you will need to search for your treasure. (Additional tools and gems are available for purchase in our gift shop) Gold Panning is available, but limited at this time to keep social distancing. We have two panning troughs available and monitor for sanitizing.
The Museum also has multiple movies to help show the history and importance of Mining to our area. Footage shows the hardship and challenges the early prospectors and miners faced along with examples of successes and failures. The movies are also included with your admission. Due to Covid-19, our theater is closed. Guidelines and restrictions change frequently, please feel free to call for the most up to date information.
Tour Groups. If you have a large group, or a group with specialized needs/requirements, please call in advance so we can provide the best museum experience for you. 719-488-0880.
